Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 31, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how TubeMake ("we", "us") handles information in connection with the website tubemake.com and our browser extensions:
- TubeMake Flow — generates images and videos for the TubeMake web app using AI services you are already signed in to in your own browser.
- Comment Miner for YouTube — exports and analyses public YouTube comments.
- Niche Hunter — YouTube Niche Finder — searches YouTube through Google's official Data API, using an API key you supply yourself, and scores the results.
The extensions are separate products with separate data handling, so each has its own section below. We keep data collection to the minimum needed for the features you choose to use.
1. TubeMake Flow (browser extension)
1.1 What it does
TubeMake Flow is a bridge between the TubeMake web app and the AI generation services you already have your own accounts with — Google Flow (labs.google), ChatGPT and Meta AI. When you ask TubeMake for an image or a video, the extension opens or reuses a tab on the service you picked, submits your prompt there using the session you are already signed in with, and hands the finished media back to the TubeMake page in your browser. Generation happens in your own browser, under your own account with that service.
1.2 What is stored, and where
-
Your settings and job queue — the engine, model and aspect ratio you
chose, the jobs waiting or running, and a rolling log of recent activity. All of this is
stored locally in your browser (
chrome.storage.local) and never leaves your machine. -
Session tokens of the generation services — to talk to Google Flow the
extension reads the access token of your existing Google Labs session from that site. The
token is held in memory only, is never written to storage, and is sent only back to
Google's own endpoints (
labs.google,aisandbox-pa.googleapis.com) as the request's authorization header. It is never sent to TubeMake or to anyone else. - Prompts and generated media — passed between the TubeMake page in your browser and the generation service. The extension itself does not transmit your prompts or your generated media to TubeMake's servers. Whatever you then choose to save inside the TubeMake app is handled under the website sections of this policy.
1.3 Why it needs the permissions it asks for
tabsandscripting— to open, find and drive the generation tab (submit the prompt, read back the finished media). Used only on the sites listed below.storage— to keep your settings and the job queue on your machine.alarms— to stay awake while a long generation is still running.- Site access — limited to the generation services
(
labs.google,aisandbox-pa.googleapis.com,flow-content.google,googleusercontent.com,meta.ai,fbcdn.net,chatgpt.com) and totubemake.com, the page that sends it work. It does not run on any other site.
1.4 What TubeMake Flow does not do
It does not collect your browsing history, keystrokes, passwords, cookies, email, financial information, health information or precise location, and it does not read the content of sites other than the ones listed above. It contains no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it does not sell or share data with third parties.
2. Comment Miner for YouTube (browser extension)
2.1 Information we collect
- Email address — only when you choose to unlock the free AI "Generate Video Ideas" feature. We use it to identify your free account and apply fair usage limits.
- YouTube comment text — only when you click "Generate Video Ideas", the public comment text of the video you selected is sent to our server to produce video ideas. We do not store the comment text after the analysis is returned.
-
Local settings — your preferences (fetch limit, selected columns, include
replies) and an access token are stored locally in your browser
(
chrome.storage.local). The token is only sent to our server to authenticate your AI requests.
2.2 What it does not do
It does not collect your browsing history, keystrokes, passwords, financial information, health information, precise location, or the content of other websites. This extension only runs on YouTube video pages.
3. Niche Hunter — YouTube Niche Finder (browser extension)
3.1 What it does
It adds a panel to YouTube that searches YouTube through Google's official YouTube Data API, scores each result against its channel's own recent average, and lets you filter the shortlist and export it as CSV or JSON. The search runs on a YouTube Data API key that you create in your own Google account and paste into the extension, against your own free daily quota.
3.2 What is stored, and where
Everything Niche Hunter keeps is held in chrome.storage.local in your own
browser, in a single record:
- Your YouTube Data API keys — as you pasted them, so you do not have to re-enter them, together with whether each one passed its last test.
- Scan results — the public video and channel statistics the Google API returned for your searches.
- Your research state — saved keywords, videos you hid by hand, filter settings, sort order and layout preferences.
None of it is transmitted to TubeMake or to anyone else, and removing the extension removes all of it with the browser's own storage.
3.3 Where its requests go
Niche Hunter makes network requests to exactly one destination:
https://www.googleapis.com/youtube/v3, called directly from your browser and
authenticated with your own key. Nothing is routed through a TubeMake server. There is no
account to create, and no analytics, tracking or advertising code in the extension.
3.4 Why it needs the permissions it asks for
storage— to keep your key and your results on this browser, as above.-
activeTabandscripting— to open the panel on the YouTube tab you are looking at, when you click the toolbar icon. They grant access to that tab at that moment, not to your browsing generally. -
Running on
youtube.com— to draw the panel and the Niche Hunter button next to Subscribe on a watch page.
3.5 What it does not do
It runs only on YouTube. It does not read your browsing history, keystrokes, passwords, financial information, health information, precise location, or the content of other websites, and it does not send your data anywhere except to Google's API on your behalf. Niche Hunter is not affiliated with YouTube or Google.
4. How we use information
- To provide the features you request.
- To apply free daily usage limits and prevent abuse of the service.
- To occasionally send you product updates about TubeMake (you can opt out anytime).
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to any third party.
5. Third-party processing
To generate video ideas in Comment Miner, comment text is processed by our AI provider, DeepSeek, acting as our processor.
Niche Hunter has no processor at all: its requests go from your browser straight to Google's YouTube Data API under your own key, and we never see them.
TubeMake Flow sends your prompts to the generation service you select — Google Flow, ChatGPT or Meta AI — under your own account with that service. Those services are not our processors: what they do with your prompts is governed by their own privacy policies and terms, which apply to you directly.
6. Data retention
Your email and usage counters are kept until you ask us to delete them. Comment text sent for analysis is processed transiently and is not retained after the result is returned. Data stored locally by either extension stays on your machine until you clear it or remove the extension.
7. Your choices & rights
- You can use Comment Miner's CSV export and on-page search features without providing an email.
- You can remove locally stored data at any time by removing the extension.
- You can sign out of a generation service in your browser to stop TubeMake Flow from being able to use it.
- You can request access to, or deletion of, your email and associated data by contacting us (see below).
8. Children
Our extensions are not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
